constellation compositions: holes, wholes, and other voids
constellation compositions emerges from my 2024-25 fellowship at the NYPL Picture Collection, where I am working on my long-term project titled “holes, wholes, and other voids,” that weaves together research nodes from the studio such as mold-making terminology, geo- and cosmo-logical phenomena, architecture, biopolitical erotics, liberation philosophies, and disability to investigate holes as metaphysical sites of power. Read more about it here.
The images and diagrams composed below are all publicly available at the NYPL Picture Collection. The Collection is a century old and ever-expanding idiosyncratic archive of print images, often labelled in folders with dated terminology, and or overlapping themes. These collages are navigation maps and mood boards as much as they are attempts to bridge adjacent topics.
