Ring My Bell is a site-specific piece that calls attention to the working community of artists at Franconia Sculpture Park. When the banister is shaken, the two interlocking cast-iron forms act as an inverted bell. Meant to be used as a dinner bell, facing both the picnic tables, communal work pad, the prairie, and the sunset, Ring My Bell demands a moment of pause and reflection of transitional time. The hollow tubes are not internally attached, they only touch when the banister is shaken. An audible vibration is internally amplified and echoes within the continuous loop of the bell, making a damp yet distinct sound.
